Bank Street College Of Education chooses SAM & EVA for their list of Best Children's Books Of The Year, 2018 Edition

I am so honoured to have SAM & EVA included in the Bank Street College Of Education's list of The Best Children's Books Of The Year, 2018 Edition! SAM & EVA was included in their Under Five category, with a star for Outstanding Merit.

"THE CHILDREN’S BOOK COMMITTEE at Bank Street College of Education strives to guide librarians, educators, parents, grandparents, and other interested adults to the best books for children published each year.

The Best Children's Books of the Year, 2018 Edition includes more than 600 titles chosen by the Children’s Book Committee as the best of the best published in 2017. In choosing books for the annual list, reviewers consider literary quality and excellence of presentation as well as the potential emotional impact of the books on young readers. Other criteria include credibility of characterization and plot, authenticity of time and place, age suitability, positive treatment of ethnic and religious differences, and the absence of stereotypes."

SAM & EVA review in Miss Magee's Reads

Thanks to Lorraine Magee for the nice review of SAM & EVA in her literacy blog, MISS MAGEE'S READS! And excerpt:

"Sam and Eva captures a common friendship problem: when one person wants to join in the fun, but the other person would rather work (or play) alone. Sam draws creative creatures and crazy scenes, but Eva always feels she can top his latest creation. As the tension escalates, readers begin to wonder how the friends will ever find common ground. Sam and Eva surprise us just in time."

SAM & EVA review in Bookworm For Kids

Thanks to Bookworm For Kids for the nice review of SAM & EVA! An excerpt:

"Eva and Sam scribble away with Sam always trying to get the extra edge—as siblings or playmates often do. Eva counters, holding on to her own ideas as the battle mounts and mounts. It's funny, it's imaginative and the situation is easy to sympathize with. Every page brings something new and unexpected, and reels the reader right in."
