Andrea Offerman was born and raised in Cologne, Germany. She graduated from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California with a Bachelors degree in illustration.
After school she worked in editorial and book illustration as well as starting to show in galleries such as Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra, CA, Chicago Art Source Gallery in Chicago, IL, and recently David B Smith Fine Art Gallery in Denver, CO. She was also very interested in experimenting with graphic storytelling, her first graphic novel “Twentyfour Hours” was published in the anthology “Flight Volume 4” in 2007, another one, “Mate” in “Flight Volume 6” in 2009.
Her love for book illustration led her to illustrate her first children’s book in
Germany, “Keine Angst vor Schafen” (written by Will Gmehling, published by Carlsen Verlag), in 2008. She continued to pursue book illustration and recently illustrated her first book for the US market, “The Boneshaker” by Kate Milford (published by Clarion Books, May 2010). Two more books with illustrations by Andrea are scheduled to be published in Fall 2011.
